Scope Design of a bespoke lifting gantry and rail arrangement to allow removal of a 17Te water dispersal valve from a hydro site for refurbishment. Due to restricted mobile crane access on site a design was produced to allow removal of the valve from the valve house and transportation up a cobbled spillway to a point where the mobile crane could reach. This involved a 3D laser scan to capture the as-built site conditions and accurate 3D modelling of the new steelwork to allow off-site manufacture.
